We were pleased to have moved from East Avenue and Galena Boulevard to a most spacious and beautiful edifice on the corner of Fourth and Clark Streets. This building was previously owned by the Bethany of Fox Valley United Methodist Church. We believed that our Fourth Street facility would be adequate for many years to come, but God...how He has blessed our ministry in this facility! Our church has grown by numbers we never imagined; our ministries have expanded; our pulpit and church have become a forum for the Episcopal leadership of our Connection; our church has become a forum for national leadership, as well as a place for cultural enrichment and educational development for, not only the St. John community, but for all the western suburbs.

We have had some exciting moments, some memorable moments, some close calls. More importantly, we recognize the significance of the numbers of persons who have developed a closer walk with their God through the ministry of St. John Church.

We have been inclusive. We have become diverse. We, like other denominational and non-denominational organizations, have become more ecumenical. Truly, this church has worked hard to become "The Church at the Caring End of Ministry."

Our Fourth Street facility seated approximately 550 persons and was maintained very well. It contained a fellowship hall, a fully functional kitchen, nursery and classroom facilities. In an effort to become financially empowered for the building of our new campus, the Fourth Street property was sold to a Latino Pentecostal congregation in 2006 and our prayer is that God will bless them as He blessed us in the location.
