- Thank you, St. John Family, for all your kind words of congratulations regarding my selection as the Special Area Teacher of the Year for the Kenosha Unified School District. Your generous cards, flowers, other presents and presence at the Recognition Dinner certainly were appreciated. It was so wonderful to have Pastor Hawkins, David, and my sisters as well as members of my St. John Family in the audience at the banquet. I felt so special at the celebration with having representatives from St. John's Ministerial Staff, Steward Board, Trustee Board, Stewardess Board, Women's Missionary Society, Women's Ministry, Sign Singers' parents, Praise Choir, Cathedral Choir, FIT-TO-SERVE Team, Ambassadors-Birthday Clubs Ministry and Hospitality Ministry present to witness God's blessing me with the joy of this honor. Thanks again everybody! Love, Ms. Mary
- Thank you to all who volunteered at the Food Bank on yesterday. Hope to see you again in May. Melanie Wilkinson, Lois Williams and Karla Albert.

- KIDNEY DISEASE AWARENESS: Your kidneys (two fist-sized organs located in the lower back) keep you healthy by filtering waste and extra water from your blood, which then leave the body in urine. Kidney disease results from damage, over time, to the tiny structures inside the kidneys that filter the blood. When the kidneys are damaged, they slowly stop doing their job and waste builds up in the blood, harming the body. Being African American, having diabetes and/or high blood pressure increases your risk for kidney failure. A person could have chronic kidney disease and not be aware of it because it develops slowly and with few symptoms. Many people don't realize they're sick until the disease is advanced and requires dialysis. Chronic kidney disease is the loss of kidney function, resulting from physical injury or a disease that damages the kidneys, such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Kidney disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the United States.
